Staff Attorney Position Opening

 

The Minnesota Elder Justice Center is seeking a full-time, exempt Staff Attorney, licensed in Minnesota, to provide and expand statewide victim supports and services to older adults. This position will work closely with all staff in a collaborative manner, and report to the victim services manager.

Qualifications:

  • Desire to work directly with older or vulnerable victims of abuse, neglect and/or financial exploitation, and their supporters;
  • License to practice law in Minnesota;
  • Strong communication, training, and public speaking skills;
  • Organizational skills, with the demonstrated ability to prioritize and handle a variety of tasks, and meet established deadlines;
  • Valid driver’s license.

Along with the aforementioned qualifications, the ideal candidate will:

  • Have the desire to work in a small nonprofit setting;
  • Problem solve and make decisions individually and/or within a team;
  • Be able to work closely with other staff, often on the same projects;
  • Have a desire to work with older or vulnerable victim of abuse; and
  • Be flexible as to changing work projects and participant needs.
