Consumer Protection in Minnesota and the Consumer Protection Restitution Account
The Minnesota Attorney General’s Office investigates and litigates numerous cases in several areas of consumer protection law, including wage theft, charities violations, and scams targeting individuals. Deputy Attorney Jessica Whitney will present on the Office’s work in various areas of consumer protection.
In addition to a general overview of the office’s consumer protection work, the presentation will focus on the Consumer Protection Restitution Account (CPRA), including an overview of eligibility criteria, the claims process, and examples of how the CPRA has been used to restitute Minnesotans who would not have otherwise been able to receive restitution.
