The Elder Justice Roadmap Released with National Priorities

Screen Shot 2015-01-28 at 2.46.31 PMThe Department of Justice and the Department of Health and Human Services sponsored a large-scale project to gather input from 750 individuals representing public and private entities, national experts and people who work to detect and prevent elder abuse.

From this input, researchers developed The Elder Justice Roadmap, a detailed, practical guide for communities to use for strategic planning to create coordinated approaches to combat elder abuse, neglect and financial exploitation. The report identifies the Top 5 Priorities for those working in the field to focus on to combat elder abuse:

  • Awareness
  • Brain Health
  • Caregiving
  • Economics
  • Resources
